” Your son can be healed only on one condition.” the marabout said.
” What condition Ancient one? “. Baba asked.
” you must go to the dome of the exorcists in Temale, and convince the exorcists to give you the scroll. The Scroll you used in chasing Bangili from Bamako”.
” But Ancient one, I am not in good terms with them. They warned me never to come there again”.
” For your son’s sake find a way to convince them, if not Bangili will hunt your family for ages to come.”

We left the marabout’s place disappointed. Baba had left Bamako a long time and the people who once worshipped him now hated him. He was a hero in Bamako after he chased Bangili out of the town, the inhabitants even wanted to erect a statue for him. He left without telling anybody. His fellow exorcists hate him, the inhabitants hate him more. Baba needs to find a way to convince them, if not in fifteen days I am history.
There was silence on our way home. Baba and I didn’t talk till we reached home.

” Welcome my husband, how was the trip? Mama asked as she welcomed us.
“It was a stressful journey and we didn’t achieve anything”
“Ah! What happened there? “
” The marabout said it will take thirty days to deliver our son”.
” But he has only fifteen days to live, is there another option?”
” Yes, I have to go to Bamako and convince the exorcists to give us the scroll I used in chasing Bangili out of Bamako”. Father said.
” Oh! No, we are finished. The people of Bamako hate you remember? Also, Keita, the head exorcists hasn’t liked you from day one “.
” I have to go there for our son’s sake. I hope they agree to help me out”.

Two days later Baba travelled to Bamako alone. When he was approaching the town, some inhabitants saw him from afar. They alerted the town soldiers. The soldiers attacked Baba before he could even enter the town.

“Traitor! Traitor!”. The villagers shouted in disgust at the sight of Baba.
The villagers showered insults on Baba. The soldiers led Baba to the district head’s house. On seeing Baba the district head’s mood changed.

” So you are related to him?” The District head asked.
“Related to who sir?” Baba answered his question with another question.
“Judas”. The District head said. ( There was laughter in the place, the district head gave a scary look, that made them keep quiet.)
“What do you find in Bamako? Doumbia”. The District head asked.
“My son is dying Sir”. Baba said.
“What does that have to do with us?”. The district head asked.
“Only the scroll at the dome of the exorcists can heal my son”.
” Get me, Keita!”. The District head ordered.

Keita arrived some minutes later. Keita was a petite man with Bald hair. Baba had once told us a story about bush babies, he said Keita was the perfect description of a bush baby.

“Ah! Doumbia so we meet again!”. Keita said.
” Keita! Doumbia needs to use the scroll in the dome, please help him with it so he can leave us alone”. The District head said.
” Please Keita, I need the scroll to save my dying son”. Baba said.
” Not so fast Doumbia, you would have to do something for me in return”.
